Emma Fitzpatrick is an Irish artist who has worked in the design industry for the past 25 years. In 2013, she focused on developing her fine art practice, drawing influence from architecture, landscape and people.
During the past 13 years living in Leicester she become increasingly interested in drawing and photographing streetscapes to capture moods and moments in time while all around is in flux - people passing by, time, weather etc It is this sense of a moment in time, yet acknowledging the complex web of a city’s history and future and the architecture, people and societies captured in such moments, that she explores in her work.
She uses a variety of media including ink, charcoal, pastel and lithography. She has exhibited regionally within the East Midlands and in the Society of Women Artists Annual Exhibition in London.
Emma is a member of the Leicester Society of Artists, Leicester Print Workshop, Leicester Sketch Club, and Urban Sketchers Leicester group.
