Leicester and East Midlands Open Art Competition

I am delighted to be taking part in the Open 29 exhibition showing some of my current urban paintings of Leicester street scenes completed during the spring and summer this year.

I apply ink usually with a twig or Skewer but in the case of the Cathedral I have also used the side of a plastic card. I apply watercolour over this with a mop brush and then finish off with spots of pastel (Unison) to give a more intense edge to the overall or sometimes just to break up lines. The drawings were done in situ.

I am looking forward to see the variety of work done by East Midland artists.
